Hospital Bag MUST Haves

May 30, 2016

C-Section it is!  Super nervous about the surgery, to her arrival and my recovery with this new tiny baby girl.  We are going earlier than expected so here is whats in my hospital bag at only 35 weeks.  I’ve done extended research and asked just about every women I know who’s had a Caesarean what their must haves were.  More suggestions welcomed.

First, and most important is to have your carseat properly installed in your car for baby’s ride home.  I decided to go with the UppaBaby Cruz stroller.  It’s light, very safe and simply colored.  I love the bassinet option for her to take naps in.

I was told the Belly Bandit is a savior.  It holds everything together and for a C relieves some pain while keeping the stomach tight.  I got the organic pink bandit and the black shield for under neither to hold any creams that are applied as well.  The white zip is to hold my  Medela Breast Pump in place while breastfeeding.  The Honest nipple balm.. we’ll see once that happens!

All about having handy products.  Scar cream, Vitamins, wavy hair mist for easy after shower do, Breast pads for leaking, oil for dryness, etc.  Am I missing anything?

Foxy!  I told my husband I bought a sexy nightgown..not really.  All cotton everything.  Target underwear and nursing bras, eye mask, Nap Socks and slippers.

For baby Si!!  (her nickname) I got the boppy pillow cover on Etsy by a shop called KB Cute Designs.  Swaddles are Aden and Anais where I also got my stroller covers and other super soft goodies.

Newborn side snap t-shirts and Mam Pacifiers will hopefully make my life a little easier.  Lastly, a head crown for the princess.

Champagne as thank you for the helpful nurses <3

CuLture Meets FashioN – Chanel Resort 2017 Location CUBA

May 24, 2016

When I watched this runway show I was fully hypnotized (and wishing I was in the audience soaking it up live!). Let me start with explaining that my husbands family is Cuban and their spicy way of living is fantastic, just mild in the traditional meal. When it was announced that Cuba was reopened we finally felt like a bucket list wish could be met! Seeing Chanel visually transform the Cuban lifestyle into their resort wear was epic and something I’ll never forget. I loved many of the other shows as well for resort 17, from Louis Vuitton in Rio and Fendi in Milan blowing my mind taking exotic florals of Japanese antique wallpapers, but Chanel went straight to the heart. Here are a few of my fav looks that evening not to mention the incredible surrounding ambience of multicolored classic cars and locals surrounded in the streets and on balconies.

Sundress Secrets While Pregnant

May 10, 2016

In my third trimester now all I’ve been comfortable in is dresses.  I buy them in a bigger size than normal and I don’t shop maternity.  Most maternity clothes are too pricey and/or have no style element to them.  I’ve already gone through clothes in my fist trimester that I thought would fit the whole time of being pregnant and trust me you will keep growing, so here are some tips I thought would be worth sharing.

Be aware of the fit before you zip.  Never buy anything that has an elastic band on the belly even if it’s loose at the moment on you.  Maternity jeans for me only lasted the first two trimesters, but still way worth it (unless you try the full belly covered maternity jeans, I haven’t).  Always have a couple of solid colored long (past your knee) over jacket/blazer/cardigan (long and no sleeve options) to cover whatever a tight dress can’t and you can still feel sexy.  Put on some makeup and maybe heels, you’ll look A+.

Showered With LOVE – In Los Angeles

May 01, 2016

We are SO incredibly lucky to have had two baby showers!  In LA our dear friend Lillian hosted our special day at one of our favorite spots in West Hollywood called Cecconi’s.  A must do brunch or dinner spot if you visit.  I was wowed by this private room and the crown princess themed day full of love.  My husband made my flower crown because I was sneezing so much.  Just use green wire to measure your head and set the crown, then take green florist wire to wrap flowers around. Refrigerate overnight.

Showered With LOVE – In Chicago

May 01, 2016

I can’t believe both baby showers are over.  We received so many beautiful gifts from all of our loved ones.  It’s been such a fun pregnancy… who needs a cocktail on this high!  I might after giving birth, yes.  Here are the photos from my baby shower I shared with my then pregnant sister, Lauren who just had her precious baby boy.

The details here are all DIY ideas.  My sisters and cousins put together this stunning space right in my cousins home.  They rented the gold chiavari chairs, but crafted the rest.  Enjoy scrolling through this bohemian themed day!  xX, Gina

Painted on chalkboard wall.  Find a friend who does calligraphy or has bomb writing.  Or if you’re interested in the work you see I can refer you via email. (she handled all of my wedding signs and envelopes too!)

My little sister made this big dreamcatcher, which is everything!  I’m planning to hang it in my nursery.  A hula hoop and ribbon was all it took.

The cutest favors and my favorite, succulents.  Spray painted gold planters complete the look.

Stunning.  Invest in charger plates and you’ll always add to your table.  Florals are a must and you don’t have to spend on a florist.  My sisters did these blooms themselves with pops of desert feel succulents. Yep, you can find succulents in non-desert places.
